When using MAP (personality) you will be collecting normative data on five broad personality scales, which all of them have five sub scales each. All these 25 scales are normative, meaning the score on each scale is a relative indication on where one individual is compared to other people, or to "what is normal or typical".
When you take these tests you will get a score between 0-10.
-
0-3 are considered lower than average.
-
3-7 is considered as an average result.
-
7-10 are considered as higher than average.
The terms "lower" and "higher" do not necessarily represent worse or better scores, but they indicate relative behavioural tendencies in an individual. If you are for example high on Agreeableness it is likely that you will be perceived as more trusting, warm, caring and supportive towards others compared to someone low on this scale. It does not mean someone with a low score can't behave in a trusting, warm and supportive way. It only means someone with a high score is more likely to behave that way. You can see the behaviours associated with lower and higher scores on all scales below.
